Based in the lovely Chase Village in Central Trinidad, Annalie Prime is making a splash with her uplifting and uniquely sunny take on music. The young indie singer/songwriter has mastered the art of blending genres through skillfully embracing pop, reggae, and the sounds of her city. “As a Trinidadian I’m always attracted to melody and chord progression,” she shares, and those roots shine through in both her original music as well as her equally enchanting covers.
Growing up as an active member of her church sparked Annalie’s spiritual side early on. “I connect with everything on a deeper level – Everything I see, touch, hear, smell or taste inspires me.” Annalie’s music first started as poetry, and the beautifully charming lyrics found in songs on 2013’s Rebel in Paradise mixtape perfectly embody her poetic spirit.
In addition to bringing her experiences to life through her lyrics, Annalie also has a background in music theory, sound recording, and music production. She’s currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts at the National Academy for Performing Arts (NAPA) while gearing up to release new original music in 2016.
