(January 3rd, 2017) – As originally promised, alternative/indie-pop 5-piece The Flats have begun rolling out their rapid-release triage of music videos, starting today with a new video premiere for their single “Electric Light.” The single comes from their upcoming surprise EP Auburn In the Everlast, which will be released for free this Friday. The video was shot and edited by Mat Kerekes.

Perhaps the most mesmerizing and exciting aspect of “Electric Light” is that the new single is exactly as it sounds-  a dazzling, twinkling display of gorgeous airy overlays, a vast spectrum of jangly chords, and volatile bursts of energy and emotion that’ll have you jumping as erratically as each of the members in the video.

About The Flats

Screen Shot 2017-01-02 at 1.30.04 PMThe Flats are a five-piece alternative/indie-pop band from Toledo, Ohio that draw influence from acts like The Cure, The National, Third Eye Blind, Mat Kerekes and Brian Fallon. The line up consists of founder and singer/songwriter Chris Kerekes, Josh Wilson (guitar/synth), Jake Cervetto (bass), Brett Kaminski (guitar), and Mat Kerekes (drums). Forming in November 2014 with the release of their debut LP “Liberation And The House In Blue”, in two short years The Flats have toured in support of several staple bands (Have Mercy, Transit, Somos, Microwave) and on their own for two co-headlining runs. With the release of their new surprise EP “Auburn In The Everlast”, The Flats have taken a step forward to create a more introspective and mature atmosphere for their strong hooks to swim in.
