A Very Special Treat: This Will Destroy You Adds Additional Dates to Anniversary Shows

(March 21st, 2018) – The experimental post-rock instrumentalist soothsayers in This Will Destroy You will soon kick off a series of performances across the Americas as a live celebration of the 10-year anniversary of their self-titled studio album. The performance series will start in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR, during which the album will be performed in its entirety. Additionally, This Will Destroy you will continue the celebration through May and June with a continuation of dazzling displays of monumental instrumental performances in Toronto, Washington D.C., Allston, Denver, and the recently announced all-ages dates in Dallas and Guadalajara. A complete list of confirmed dates of the specialty performances can be found below.

Originally issued by Magic Bullet Records, This Will Destroy You was produced by Grammy-winning producer/engineer/mixer John Congleton (Blondie, Marilyn Manson, Bono, etc.) at a studio in Spicewood, Texas owned by country music icon Willie Nelson. The resulting recordings came brightly packaged as 7 studio tracks of what could best be described as an all-encompassing engagement of unadulterated ethereal beauty. Listeners were submerged in enigmatic flows like that akin to a roaring river, coupled with the expanse of mellifluousness tantamount to that of when mist rises gently off fo fresh waters. The etnire experience was breathtaking and ground-shaking, marking it as a classic of its own kind and stood paramount in what would be the band’s long-steming career. Positive reception came without exception: Rock Sound described it as “the soundtrack to the impending apocalypse” and awarded it the 5th best album of the year; Punknews lauded it as an “engaging and occasionally stunning listen that marks a recognizable growth.”

Such growth began to unfurl and spread evenly throughout This Will Destroy You’s epoch of epics, spanning 5 studio albums, 1 anniversarial reissue, and a composition spotlight in the scoring of Chef Jordan Kahn’s experimental Los Angeles restaurant Vespertine, aptly titled “Kitchen.” Utterly boundless, This Will Destroy You has yet to show any signs of stopping. Included in upcoming plans, Dark Operative has a special tenth anniversary edition of This Will Destroy You in production, featuring the bonus track “Language Of Memory.” A release date will be announced in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the band is currently finishing the recording of a new full-length as a co-release on Dark Operative and Suicide Squeeze with further details to be announced soon.
