Vocalist Jonathan Butler says, “The best part of this [premiere] for me is someone will finally hear something I’m a part of. I’ve been doing music for a long time and never really truly got anything published. [It] feels good to know someone is going to be listening to something I’ve done.”

About To Be A King

Forming in August of 2014, Buena Vista, VA’s To Be A King originally started out as a deathcore/horrorcore outfit that quickly rose up the ranks by showcasing the type of skill and drive that only seasoned veterans have been shown to have. The band went on to release their debut EP, entitle ‘Fear Not’, December 9th, 2014 on Imminence Records and featured influences from deathcore and Metalcore while incorporating Symphonic Metal and a positive message. The band then hit troubled waters through 2015 that saw lineup changes and a change in direction for their sound. The band’s new single, which will appear on their forthcoming EP, showed the band emerging with a more melodic hardcore sound and a group of solidified musicians ready to pick up where they left off at the end of 2014.
